Last night Bozzuto hosted the 7th annual Boxing for Books fundraising event at the Anthem House. The goal of the event was to raise funds and awareness for Umar boxing’s No Hooks Before Books, an after-school program for Baltimore City youths. The program creates a safe environment for children that includes academic development and athletic training. Their mission prepares them for future roles as productive citizens of society. The children are required to participate actively in the academic program to partake in the boxing program.
“The UMAR Boxing Gym trains the body, mind, and heart of its student athletes.”
It was a great event that included exhibition boxing and cocktails. Mayor Catherine Pugh visited the event lending her support. A boxing ring was set up on the one-acre outdoor space along the infinity pool and sundeck. The recently completed Anthem House is a 282-unit apartment building located in South Baltimore between Lawrence Street and East Fort Avenue.
