The Guyantian Bailu Bay Resort includes an addition and enhancements to an existing master plan. The design required a distinct style for the new Bailu Bay development that nevertheless felt connected to the adjacent, existing development. The project, located on a peninsula includes an international standard 18-hole membership golf course, and will include a clubhouse, additional villas, and high-rise apartments when completed. Bailu Bay features a Santorini themed design, inspired by the Greek islands. This has been particularly challenging because it requires blending local materials and design characteristics with the Santorini style, and incorporating Santorini landscape design style into a tropical environment. It also involves incorporating a design style that is relatively low-scale to high rise buildings, and one that is suited for hillside terrain into a site that is relatively flat.
